What is NeoBook?
We get asked this a lot. I'm hoping to change that. So this is like a testimonial from someone who makes a living using NeoBook RAD5. Me.
NeoBook RAD5 is the best kept secret in the world of rapid application builders. And just because you haven't heard of it, doesn't mean it can't stand up to the big boys. C++ or Delphi it's not, but it's quite capable of turning out impressive ebooks, presentations, ezines, catalogs, greeting cards, games, browsers, kiosks, utilities, and yes, even full blown windows applications. Whether it be a simple utility, or a full blown custom audio player or database driven application, NeoBook shines.
It's easy to do. AND fun. Watching your application grow is a feeling of accomplishment. Being able to combine multimedia, images, text, video, audio to make useful applications with little or no programming skills in a user friendly environment is the best thing that happened to coding.
It's also a great way to provide a side income. Whether you develop shareware and put it up for sale, or custom program for others, NeoBook gives you the tools to do it. And it's not only great for beginners. Advanced programmers will appreciate it's power. Extend it's horsepower with javascript or vbscript. Take it to the max with free and commercial plugins that put it on steroids.
Did I mention is was FUN to use? It IS because it's not a CHORE to use or learn. No staring at a blank page, waiting for you to type the extensive code necessary to develop the typical application. Instead, you start drawing things. Buttons, images and some text. Then you select from hundreds of actions to assign to the objects you created, fill in the blanks, and you're done. You can compile it into an exe file. Royalty free.
Once you learn your way around in NeoBook, then the fun really begins. You will by then know the power that lays at your fingertips. I spent my first week with NeoBook making ridiculous utilities for myself. Just to see what I could make it do while I learned my way around. I didn't care what they looked like. So long as they worked. And work they did. String manipulators, database apps, ebooks, image viewers, they began rolling out left and right.
I had only been into NeoBook for a month or so, when someone I knew needed an application that would generate html templates to paste into Ebay Turbolister. Back then there were few eBay services like today. He put up a lot of auctions and he wanted to be able to fill in the blanks, select his images, click generate, and paste the html into TurboLister. Since NeoBook has extensive html capabilities, I told him I could do it, and got the job. 2 weeks later (Hay! I was still learning!), I had an application delivered to him. He paid me $600, and I was INSTANTLY sold on NeoBook's commercial capabilities.
I began to develop more shareware titles, and began selling them on my web site, highdesertsoftware.com. I picked up more custom jobs, all the while being continually impressed with what I could develop with this software. I visited the NeoBook Support forum regularly, and found it to be a gold mine of help and information. None of my posts were ever left unanswered, and usually within an hour or two I had help. Important when you're serious about learning something. Now I have 13 shareware titles developed, as well as numerous freeware titles.
NeoBook changed my life. I can now work at home and be my own boss. And I work IT, it doesn't work me. AND, now when someone offers me a couple grand to code an application, I think "What? You wanna PAY me to do that?" "Are you crazy? I'd do it for free!" Never mind. Can't make a living that way. But you get my meaning.
Hay. Don't take my word for it. Download the trial and try it for yourself. You've got nothing to lose but a little time. And when you see what power it has, then come to ClickCoders and get it cheaper than anywhere on the web. Plus all the ClickCoding help you can handle. Use it's power wisely, and you will return your investment in no time.
Man, there just ain't nothin' better. Happy coding.
