If this is an instructional video why are you going so fast? No verbal instruction as to what you are doing? How is someone who has never tatted supposed to learn?

Where can I find tatting supplies, and what kind of supplies are needed for needle tatting?
I'm a crocheter and I thought I'd try something new. lol This looks like it would be a nice hobby. :)

Hi, I'm looking for how to do tatting that goes around a baby blanket. I have some baby items that are very old, that have it. I would love to learn how to do for my grand babies. I have looked on you tube, but none of these clips are what I'm looking for.
The tatting is small, about 1/4 inch or smaller and it's kind of square. Can any one help me find a demo on how to learn to do this?

Hi, usually I do work off the ball making SCMR...I do occasionally work true rings, but I dislike working with long cut threads. When I end a chain I turn and tie a simple knot which does anchor the core to the working thread. Good luck!

Hello, Mel. I'm a shuttle tatter who's looking to try tatting with fine wire - much easier with a needle - and I have a couple of questions. First, are your rings all SCMR so that you can tat off the ball? And second, when you end a chain, I see you make an extra half-stitch (?) or slip knot (?) after you slide your sts off the needle. Is this the second half of the last ds or do you knot the core thread to anchor the chain? Thanks so much in advance.

Sorry but iI am just a beginner, and your video is tooooooo fast for me to follow. also if you could show how to thread the needle in slow motion would help me.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I think I do understand what you mean. I'll have to try it.
Honestly, I'd never heard of needle tatting until I found you online. I only ever knew tatting to consist of using shuttles (and ball thread)
Thanks again! |
